++ is a suffix used to comend a good deed. You place the ++ points after the name of the individual/object you would like to honor.
Somewhere in the universe is large bucket that holds all the + points in the world. It is from this bucket one draws the ++ points. To do so requires considerable work, as it is an epic journey even to get to the bucket, with dragons, ninja-pirates and the like standing in your way.
You cannot keep ++ points for yourself once drawn from the bucket, as they are only for giving away. It is because of this epic journey that ++ points are only awarded to the most elite of posts.
| Origins: Originally, this was done if you approved of a comment/action made by a BOB within the IRC, which gave them Karma, which InfoBOB kept track of. Additionally, there was ++'s evil cousin --, which was much less widely used, except in the case of users wanting to reduce their karma. Most notable was cain, who, with the help of many others, managed to keep his kama at a healthy -666, until everyone got bored, or drunk. |
