Planet-BOB
On January the 12th 2006 synkr0nized created a Thread detailing his idea to revitalize the community. The basic premise is to create a community web page. After much discussion the name Planet-BOB was chosen.

Add your name and what you are planning on doing/currently working on here, so that others can have a clear idea of what is presently going on, avoiding redundancies and getting an idea of who to contact or keep in touch with for what.

UPDATE 1/16/06: I have uploaded a simple, minamlist page that outlines the CSS that we will (maybe?) use for the pages contained on the site. Please have a look around, under one of the domains Darlid registered: samples.
SUBSEQUENTLY: The template above served as a simple starting point for the Planet-BOB site design. We have since advanced from that. I am presently working on site administration (structuring content, site layout, site design and features, and so forth) and managing the features used in the site.
I am also working on providing a detailed description of what each section of the site will allow members to do, to be written here on this Wiki page. As I experiment with the site's features and the breadth of the options, I will modify these descriptions to reflect what is actually possible.
UPDATE APRIL 2006: The site's ready for people to use it. I don't know what else you want me to do. Use it, please.

If the council decides to run this place like a business, you'll need someone to coordinate ad sales and marketing. I'm the guy. Also, I'll be wearing a custom designed "clanBOB Precision Shooting" Polos during the IDPA and IPSC seasons; which will open in early spring.

It's not a terribly big piece of the puzzle, but if people have content they want to submit, but are worried about its clarity or accuracy, I'm happy to proofread. Either supply me with a URL or use my Y! address listed in the forum IM contacts thread. No snarky comments, I promise.
I'm also willing to take charge of any ClanBOB news blog we set up, if there's enough information sent to me. No good expecting me to actually gather gossip -- I'm always the last one to know! :)

I've taken on an administrative role. Keeping track of who's doing what when and what needs to happen next. That sort of stuff. If it comes to be needed, I'm willing to be a decision-maker and figure for public flaming.

I'll be working with the art and comic sections of the site once our design monkeys have things up and running. Until then, I'm working to keep everyone in this project connected. So if you want to do something to help but don't know where to start, ask me, and I'll either be able to get you the information you need or direct you to the person who can.

If anyone can help me get some sort of guide/program to help me build CSS/PHP websites (already heard of xoops and Drupal 'n such), I'll see what I do in the construction of the website. And while this may not be necessary to add but if there are problems with the design or if someone's in need of ideas or suggestions, I'll be more than happy to see what I can do to help.
Content and Sections
What follows here is an outline of what each potential section of Planet-BOB will entail and contain. Afterwards follows a brief listing of community members have expressed interest in aiding with each section.

This would have an easy-to-use PHP sort of thing for members to upload, host, and display their galleries. Presence offered to assist us in getting the gallery software clanbob.net uses, and helping us integrate it to be shiny. He offered to teach us to admin it to allow for uploads and such.

It has been suggested that the BOBcams be moved from the wiki to PlanetBOB website.

Something like an RSS feed of comics created by members. Either by hotlinking or mirroring, if the comic-creating members are okay with it. Could also be used to host comics for some members.

Basically, the game section would be divided up by game, and each game would have a page listing members who play that game and their info. Whoever is in charge of each game could host regular events that players could participate in. There would be a master calendar somewhere displaying all planned gaming events, to make it easy for potential players to find one they are interested in participating in.
To decide what games make the page, it may be a good idea to make petitions in the various forums for games. When a game has been decided on, a moderator for that game's page should be elected/appointed. That moderator would be in charge of scheduling events for that game, and keeping them in conjunction with the big game callendar on the main gaming page.
A "wildcard" game page, it could regularly host events, but the game would change every time. Like, say, one week we could have a big starcraft battle, the next everyone meet on, say, counter strike. The game and event would be very open to the suggestion of participants, too, possibly taking a vote on different suggestions.
If we had a head game moderator, he or she would be the one to schedule these weekly (or more often) events for maximum participation.
A scoreboard would be another constructive addition. Gloating rights are important, whether they be intramural gloating rights, or gloating about a victory over some rival clan.

The rig, it has been suggested that the rig be moved or at least duplicated on the site.
